This is our last full day in Melbourne and we decide to visit the hidden alleys and lanes that make up this city. There is a walking map that starts down by the river and does a several hour loop. The alleyways are just fascinating, it is like a hidden city.
If you are into shopping, Melbourne Central Business District is for you, on Flinders Lane – the most expensive shops in the world are yours to explore and buy from if you wish. Rodeo Drive in LA has nothing on this.
We have a very enjoyable walk and finish with a nice dinner at Georges on Collins Street where we have a lovely server from Stockholm who will be returning home in the next several weeks to surprise her family for Christmas. I love talking to the people who are here, they have such great stories. It will be an early night tonight as we have an early flight in the morning. I love Australia and would come here again for sure.

Melbourne is way too cool.
The weather today is, again, not the best but it’s just fine for walking. There is a walking tour called ‘Arcades and Lanes’ that we’ve taken and it’s just as described. Hidden lanes, arcades, street art, and food stuff – really nice. The tour winds through most of the CBD and close-in environs and presents great views of the city as well. We need a few extra days here!

Doesn’t Melbourne have a great vibe? Would love to see it in the spring.
